Role Overview – Pain Medicine Consultant (PM&R)

As a Pain Medicine Consultant, you will assess, diagnose, and manage patients with chronic musculoskeletal, neuropathic, and complex pain conditions. You will develop individualized treatment plans, perform interventional pain procedures where appropriate, and collaborate with rehabilitation physicians, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, physiotherapists, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage acute and chronic pain conditions
• Develop individualized multidisciplinary pain management plans
• Perform interventional pain procedures where appropriate
• Collaborate with rehabilitation and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow evidence-based guidelines
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education
• Educate patients on pain management and rehabilitation strategies

Requirements

• Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation or related specialty
• Sub-specialty training or extensive experience in Pain Medicine
• Experience in chronic pain management and multidisciplinary pain programs
• Interventional pain procedures experience preferred
• Tertiary hospital or specialized pain center experience
• Eligible for DOH Consultant licensure

Salary & Benefits

Salary: AED 85,000 – AED 95,000
