Role Overview – Consultant Spinal Cord Injury Medicine (PM&R)

As a Consultant in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, you will lead the rehabilitation of patients with acute, sub-acute, and chronic spinal cord injuries. You will develop individualized rehabilitation plans, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and support patients in achieving optimal functional recovery and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with spinal cord injuries across all stages of rehabilitation
• Develop individualized rehabilitation and functional recovery plans
• Lead multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and nursing staff
• Manage complications associated with spinal cord injuries
• Coordinate inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as required
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and rehabilitation records
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education
• Promote evidence-based rehabilitation practices and patient safety

Requirements

• Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) or related specialty
• Specialized experience in Spinal Cord Injury rehabilitation
• Experience managing acute, sub-acute, and long-term SCI patients
• Multidisciplinary rehabilitation team leadership experience
• Tertiary care or specialized rehabilitation center experience preferred
• Eligible for DOH Consultant licensure
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: AED 85,000 – AED 95,000 per month
