Role Overview – Clinical Psychologist (Perinatal)

As a Clinical Psychologist specialising in Perinatal Mental Health, you will provide psychological assessment, counselling, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for women experiencing mental health challenges during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

You will work collaboratively with obstetricians, psychiatrists, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to support maternal wellbeing and promote positive outcomes for mothers, babies, and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for pregnant and postpartum women
• Diagnose and manage perinatal mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders
• Deliver evidence-based psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Develop individualised treatment plans and monitor patient progress
• Provide counselling and psychoeducation to patients and families
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary maternity and women’s health teams
• Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations
• Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
• Promote awareness and early intervention for maternal mental health conditions

Requirements

* Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
* Specialised training in Perinatal Mental Health
* Minimum 5 years of experience in maternal mental health
* DHA, MOH, or DOH License Eligibility
* Experience in CBT and psychotherapy
* Strong communication and patient management skills
* Western or European qualifications preferred

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: AED 35,000 – AED 45,000 per month
