Chair of Medical Oncology in Dubai

The Company

A leading government healthcare organisation in Dubai is opening a brand-new, purpose-built cancer hospital that will bring diagnosis, treatment and supportive care together under one roof. Care will be delivered by multidisciplinary teams, with research and clinical trials at the heart of the service and a strong focus on patient and family wellbeing, including calm, healing spaces designed around the people who use them.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a medical oncology department from day one. As Chair, you will set the clinical vision, recruit and develop your team, and establish the pathways and standards that will define cancer care at the new hospital.

• Lead the medical oncology department through commissioning, opening and growth.
• Recruit, mentor and develop a high-calibre consultant and multidisciplinary team.
• Establish evidence-based treatment pathways, tumour boards and quality standards.
• Champion research and clinical trials alongside excellent patient care.

Requirements:

• Board certification in medical oncology (e.g. CCT/FRCP UK, or a recognised European specialist qualification).
• Several years at consultant level in a dedicated cancer hospital or cancer centre.
• Proven leadership experience, such as clinical lead, head of department or service director.
• Commissioning experience is desirable.
• Eligible for UAE licensing.

• Salary: AED 70,000 to AED 80,000, tax-free.
