Role Overview – Consultant Critical Care (Burns)

As a Consultant Critical Care (Burns), you will provide specialist intensive care management for patients with severe burn injuries, inhalation injuries, and complex multi-system trauma requiring advanced life support.

You will work closely with burn surgeons, trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, respiratory therapists, nursing teams, and rehabilitation specialists to deliver evidence-based critical care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill patients with severe burn injuries in the ICU
• Provide advanced intensive care for burn-related complications and multi-organ failure
• Lead multidisciplinary management of burn and trauma patients
• Perform advanced airway management, mechanical ventilation, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Coordinate care with plastic surgeons, trauma teams, and rehabilitation specialists
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical needs
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and ICU records
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and critical care governance
• Supervise junior physicians and contribute to clinical education

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognised institution
• Tier 1 Consultant qualification in Critical Care Medicine or Intensive Care Medicine
• Dedicated experience managing major burns and multi-system trauma in ICU settings
• Extensive experience working in specialised burn units
• Strong expertise in advanced life support, ventilatory management, and critical care procedures
• Eligible for DOH Consultant licensure
• Available to join within 3 months
• Excellent leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills

Salary & Benefits

AED 85,000 – AED 95,000 per month
