Role Overview – Cardiac Critical Care Specialist

As a Cardiac Critical Care Specialist, you will manage critically ill cardiac patients requiring advanced intensive care support, including ECMO, invasive monitoring, and mechanical ventilation.

You will work closely with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary ICU teams to deliver comprehensive evidence-based cardiac critical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill patients within the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
• Provide advanced cardiac critical care and hemodynamic management
• Manage ECMO patients and monitor ECMO circuit performance
• Deliver advanced ventilatory support and invasive monitoring
• Stabilise patients with severe cardiac and circulatory failure
• Collaborate with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and multidisciplinary ICU teams
• Participate in emergency cardiac resuscitation and critical care procedures
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DOH regulations
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Stay updated with advances in cardiac critical care and ECMO management

Requirements

• Medical Degree from a recognised institution
• Specialist or Consultant qualification in Critical Care, Cardiology, or a related specialty acceptable for the role
• Trained in ECMO and advanced cardiac critical care management
• Expertise in ventilatory support, invasive monitoring, and ECMO circuit care
• Tier 1 (T1) qualification status required
• Available to join within 1–3 months
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
