Role Overview – Child Psychiatrist

As a Child Psychiatrist, you will assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders affecting children and adolescents. You will collaborate with psychologists, neurologists, therapists, educators, and families to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered mental healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents
• Develop individualized treatment and medication management plans
• Provide psychotherapy and family counseling where appropriate
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary mental health teams
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Follow international mental health and patient safety guidelines
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD) from a recognized institution
• Completed residency in Psychiatry
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
• Valid DHA, MOH, or DOH license or eligibility
• Board certification in Psychiatry or Child Psychiatry preferred
• Fluency in Arabic (mandatory); English proficiency is an advantage
• Minimum 3–5 years of post-qualification experience treating children and adolescents

Salary & Benefits

Salary: AED 55,000 – AED 75,000 per month
