Role Overview – Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist

As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, you will provide specialist psychiatric assessments and treatment for patients involved in medico-legal, criminal, civil, and forensic mental health cases.

You will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, prepare expert medico-legal reports, collaborate with legal authorities and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and deliver evidence-based forensic psychiatric care while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive forensic psychiatric assessments
• Evaluate patients involved in criminal, civil, and medico-legal cases
• Prepare detailed medico-legal and forensic psychiatric reports
• Assess mental capacity, criminal responsibility, and risk factors
• Provide expert opinions in accordance with legal and professional standards
• Develop personalised psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation plans
• Collaborate with legal authorities, psychologists, social workers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DOH regulations
• Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
• Stay updated with developments in forensic psychiatry and mental healthcare

Requirements

• Medical Degree with Specialisation in Psychiatry
• Consultant-level qualification in Forensic Psychiatry
• Experience managing medico-legal and forensic psychiatric cases
• Valid DOH Licence or Eligibility
• Strong psychiatric assessment, reporting, and communication skills
• Willingness to work in the Al Ain region
• Available to join immediately or within a maximum notice period of three months
