Role Overview – Pediatric Surgery Specialist

As a Pediatric Surgery Specialist, you will diagnose and surgically manage congenital, neonatal, and acquired surgical conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents. You will work closely with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care while maintaining the highest standards of surgical excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat congenital and acquired surgical conditions in pediatric patients
• Perform neonatal, infant, and pediatric surgical procedures
• Manage emergency pediatric surgical cases and trauma when required
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare teams
• Participate in neonatal and pediatric surgical consultations
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records
• Follow international pediatric surgical guidelines and patient safety protocols
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Board certification in General Surgery with subspecialization in Pediatric Surgery
• Valid DOH license or eligibility for Pediatric Surgery practice
• Minimum 3–5 years of surgical experience treating neonates and pediatric patients
• Strong expertise in pediatric surgical procedures and perioperative care
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: AED 50,000 – AED 60,000 per month
