Role Overview – Pain Medicine Specialist

As a Pain Medicine Specialist, you will assess, diagnose, and manage patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions using medical, minimally invasive, and image-guided treatment techniques.

You will work closely with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, rehabilitation specialists, physiotherapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver personalised pain management plans that improve patients’ quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pain disorders
• Perform fluoroscopy-guided and ultrasound-guided pain procedures
• Develop comprehensive multidisciplinary pain management plans
• Administer interventional pain treatments including nerve blocks and injections
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as required
• Educate patients regarding pain management strategies and rehabilitation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations
• Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Recognized specialty qualification in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, or a related field
• Fellowship in Pain Medicine preferred
• Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience
• Expertise in chronic pain management, interventional pain procedures, and multidisciplinary pain care
• Eligibility for DOH, DHA, or MOH Specialist licensure
• Experience with fluoroscopy-guided and ultrasound-guided pain procedures preferred
• Arabic language skills are an advantage
