Role Overview – Consultant Emergency Medicine

As a Consultant in Adult Emergency Medicine, you will lead the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adult patients presenting with acute illnesses, trauma, and medical emergencies.

Working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, you will provide evidence-based emergency care, supervise junior medical staff, and ensure rapid clinical decision-making while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and emergency department performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adult emergency cases
• Lead trauma resuscitations and acute emergency interventions
• Provide consultant-level decision-making in high-acuity situations
• Supervise and support emergency department medical staff
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Ensure timely admissions, referrals, and patient transfers when required
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DOH regulations
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Contribute to emergency department protocols and clinical governance
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centred emergency care

Requirements

• Consultant qualification in Adult Emergency Medicine
• Arabic speaking (mandatory)
• Valid DOH Licence or DOH Eligibility
• Candidate must currently be available in the UAE
• Willingness to work in a remote hospital setting
• Previous experience working in remote or rural hospitals within the UAE is preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and emergency clinical management skills
