Role Overview – Consultant Sports Medicine

As a Consultant Sports Medicine Physician, you will assess, diagnose, and manage sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions while developing personalised rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes.

You will work closely with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, nutritionists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimise recovery and enhance athletic performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal disorders
• Develop personalised treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play programmes
• Perform comprehensive musculoskeletal assessments
• Provide injury prevention advice and sports performance guidance
• Collaborate with physiotherapists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Manage both acute and chronic sports injuries
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment plans
• Follow international sports medicine and patient safety guidelines
• Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuing medical education

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with recognised specialty training in Sports Medicine
• Board Certification, CCT, CCST, American Board, Fellowship, or equivalent recognised qualification in Sports Medicine
• Eligible for or holding a valid Qatar medical licence (QCHP/MOPH eligibility preferred)
• Candidates with limited Consultant-level experience may be considered with strong Sports Medicine training
• Experience developing rehabilitation and return-to-play programmes
• Experience working with professional athletes, sports teams, or active populations is an advantage
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are an advantage
• GCC or previous Middle East experience preferred

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Up to QAR 60,000 per month
