Role Overview – Consultant Hematologist
As a Consultant Hematologist, you will diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of hematological disorders, including both malignant and non-malignant conditions. You will work closely with oncology specialists, pathologists, transfusion medicine teams, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based treatment and comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage benign and malignant hematological disorders
- Evaluate and treat patients with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, anemia, coagulation disorders, and bone marrow failure syndromes
- Perform and interpret bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy and supportive care
- Manage blood transfusion therapy and monitor treatment outcomes
- Collaborate with oncology, pathology, laboratory, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with international clinical standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and long-term follow-up
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Western-trained Consultant Hematologist with recognized Board Certification or equivalent qualification
- Eligible for or holding a valid DHA Consultant License
- Minimum 8–10 years of post-board certification experience as a Consultant Hematologist
- Extensive experience managing benign and malignant hematological disorders
- Expertise in bone marrow aspiration, biopsy procedures, and advanced hematology investigations
- Experience with chemotherapy protocols, supportive care, and multidisciplinary cancer management
- Previous experience in internationally accredited tertiary care hospitals preferred
- Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory
- GCC or Middle East experience is an advantage but not mandatory
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: Up to AED 90,000 per month
