Role Overview
As a Consultant Gastroenterologist, you will diagnose, treat, and manage a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and digestive disorders. You will perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures while working closely with surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, and other specialists to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal disorders.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
- Manage patients with liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatic disorders, and functional GI conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DOH and hospital standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and continuing medical education.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, treatment options, and long-term gastrointestinal health.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with specialization in Gastroenterology.
- Western Board, CCT, CESR, American Board, or equivalent Tier 1 qualification in Gastroenterology.
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-board Consultant experience.
- Expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
- Eligibility for DOH Consultant Licensure.
- Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred.
- Excellent communication, diagnostic, and patient management skills.
