Role Overview – Consultant Breast Surgeon

As a Consultant Breast Surgeon, you will diagnose, evaluate, and surgically manage patients with benign and malignant breast conditions while delivering comprehensive breast care from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.

You will work closely with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, plastic surgeons, and multidisciplinary breast care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes using the latest evidence-based surgical techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage benign and malignant breast diseases
• Perform breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, and oncoplastic breast procedures
• Perform sentinel lymph node biopsy and other advanced breast surgical techniques
• Evaluate patients using imaging, biopsy, and multidisciplinary case discussions
• Develop personalised surgical treatment plans
• Provide outpatient consultations and post-operative follow-up care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary breast cancer teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DOH regulations
• Participate in tumour board meetings, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives
• Stay updated with advances in breast surgery and oncological care

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognised institution
• UK CCT in General Surgery with subspecialty training in Breast Surgery or American Board Certification
• Tier 1 qualification as per DHA guidelines
• Minimum 5–8 years of post-specialist experience in Breast Surgery
• Expertise in breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, oncoplastic procedures, and sentinel lymph node biopsy
• Eligible for DOH Consultant Licence
• Experience in a tertiary care or internationally accredited hospital preferred
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills

Salary & Benefits

Salary: AED 80,000 – AED 90,000 per month
