Role Overview – Consultant Pediatric Genetics
As a Consultant Pediatric Geneticist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and manage children with inherited and genetic disorders. You will work closely with pediatricians, neonatologists, obstetricians, laboratory specialists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide accurate diagnoses, personalized treatment recommendations, and comprehensive genetic counselling for patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage inherited and genetic disorders in infants and children
- Interpret genetic testing, genomic sequencing, and laboratory investigations
- Provide genetic counselling to patients and their families
- Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Develop individualized management plans for complex genetic conditions
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and family education
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
- Contribute to research, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education
Requirements
- Board-certified in Clinical Genetics or Pediatric Genetics
- Expertise in diagnosing hereditary and rare genetic disorders
- Proficient in genetic testing interpretation and genetic counselling
- Research involvement in genetics is desirable
- Valid DOH, DHA, or MOH license or eligibility preferred
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
