Role Overview – Consultant Liver Transplant Surgeon

As a Consultant Liver Transplant Surgeon, you will perform complex liver transplant procedures, manage hepatobiliary surgical cases, and provide comprehensive pre- and post-transplant care while working closely with hepatologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary transplant teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform living donor and deceased donor liver transplant surgeries
• Manage complex hepatobiliary surgical cases
• Evaluate transplant candidates and donor suitability
• Provide pre- and post-transplant patient management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary transplant teams
• Lead immunosuppression and long-term transplant follow-up planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and medical education

Requirements

• American Board (or equivalent) certification in General Surgery
• Fellowship in Multi-Organ or Liver Transplant Surgery
• Minimum 10 years of post-certification experience in liver transplantation
• Expertise in donor and recipient liver transplantation, including living donor procedures
• Experience in post-transplant immunosuppression and transplant program leadership
• Eligible for DOH Consultant licensure in Abu Dhabi

Salary & Benefits

Salary: AED 85,000 – AED 95,000 per month
